Battery idiot light is ON!!

So I jump in my truck this morning to go to target, when I get there I throw it in park and as soon as it idles down my battery light comes on. Hit the gas just a touch and the light goes out, but when it idles it comes on. Could this be an alternator or maybe one of the batteries going bye-bye? What should I check first? Thanks Kelly

Those are basically the same symptoms my employers service truck showed when the alternator was going bad.... It would charge low at idle, but would work ok when the rpms were up.

It sounds like the alternator to me. You may be able to get it checked at an Advance auto or something.
