plug in back of fuel bowl smoking
while under the hood earlier I noticed smoke coming up from where the yellow plug goes into the back of the fuel bowl. I figured this is not a good mixture of smoke/fuel so i attempted to remove the plug to check it and the entire female connection on the fuel bowl came out. It definetley looks like there was a bad connection there. Now im wondering what my options are. It looks like ill have to take out the entire fuel bowl and get a better look. Might just follow the guzzles fuel bowl rebuild writeup. Anybody had this prob before?

to be more specific i think it is the water in fuel sensor. Not sure why there was smoke coming from there.
one more question... is this alright to drive with the sensor unplugged for a short time? and is there anything to plug it up with for the time being? Last edited by jonnywong; 11-17-2009 at 04:16 PM. |

ok so i unplugged it and it ran for about a minute with no leaks or anything and then just quit. Now it wont start at all. The dealership says the plug replacement (external) is about $166 for the part and the element (internal) is $170. I think its just the external that needs to be replaced but was wondering if i could get away without it. In desperate need of some ideas here thanks
