Oil Leak
Hey Ya'll:
A buddies truck has developed an oil leak on his 7.3l, he has a 2002 F-250. He told me the other day that he has developed an oil leak either on the side or behind the turbo..... What are some possible places that would leak in that area?? Thanks! |

Follow the leak to the highest point. Thats where you will find the culprit. If it is coming from the turbo, then he may only need to replace the turbo pedestal o-rings. Pretty common on these trucks.

Do you have to remove the turbo to replace the pedistal o-rings?? |

My 2002 just sprang a leak. My initial thought was a rear main, but if someone has a little guidance on the o-rings on the turbo pedestal it would be much appreciated. I am TDY in Fort Walton Beach, Fl rite now so I don't have many tools except what I have in my truck.

Have you looked on top in the valley, the plug on the HPOP is by far the most common leak on a 7.3.

i did look on top and there is oil in there, but there is also oil all over the ic pipes. i looked at the hpop plug and it didn't seem like oil was coming from there.
