ok i have a 2001 7.3 and today i was going down the rode and i layt of the throttle and it dropped like 2gears and when i would finally get it back going it wouldnt down gear so i headed to my house and it started getting worse about just dropping and skipping gears when finally pulled over it was makeing a squilling sound and smoken so i killed it and then it didnt have reverse but i finally got reverse back but now it is stuck between 2nd and drive and it still makes the squilling sound. it is all factorey sept a 6inch lift and straight piped.

that was the first thang i checked it had pleanty i went ahead and added some but no differnce.

hmm you may have burned some clutches up.

and the tow light has been flashing on and off

ooo yeah my buddies did that when his started slipping real bad and then just went out. Sorry to say your trans is on the way out i'd say for sure.
