O/D off light flashing???????

I have a 2001 F250. it got about 160k on it. The tranny has been shifing kinda funny the past couple of months. Tonight when I got in the drive way and put it in park and I was sitting there for a minute the o/d off light started flashing and didnt stop till i turned the truck off. Ive heard of this. Whats going on. Please help???

Last time that happened to me I lost my tranny. Which drive/reverse positions are still working? I had to still drive mine a mile or so and wound up with only second in 4wd to get on the trailer and lost that once loaded.... The tranny place said they'd never seen a tranny gone like that. I do my best!

Its like when im driving I can get a good run through the gears and then stop and start going through them again and 1 and 2 go through good but when I get to 3rd gear it kinda dumps into third. Like it was holding it to long.

You need to get your tranny checked.

Flashing od light means its in failure mode. Once mine started flashing, my tranny lasted about 50 miles then I was stuck on the side of the road. Turned out my torque converted shredded and shards were pumped through out the whole tranny and destroyed the whole thing.

Wow you did better than I and I mean by destruction. Mine had to do with the pumps going out and then burned the tranny to crap.

My transmission guy said it was pretty bad lol. Once the torque converted shreaded, the pump pumped the shards from the TC through out the transmission and just destroyed the whole thing he said. Only thing that's original is the housing basically.

OOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCH!

The housing was basically all I had left as well. And the female ego wasn't doing so well after being hauled home 3.5 hours by a CTD. (BUT very thankful)

I told them we needed to put numbers (shoe polish) on the windows like 9.5 so it didn't look bad.
