Hi,
Yesterday I noticed a significant amount of oil pooling on top of my transmission. There was also oil pooling in the engine valley and leaking down the back of my oil pan. Here's a photo of the oil pooling on the transmission.
I cleaned off the oil from the engine valley, top of the transmission, and below the truck. Today when I started the truck I noticed oil spots where I had parked it overnight.
I went for a 15 mile drive and then checked the engine. There was more oil pooling on top of the transmission and leaking down the back of my oil pan. There did not seem to be additional oil in the engine valley.
The oil seems to be concentrated more on the right (passenger) side of the transmission.
There is a small square piece on top of the transmission that spins freely. It's not a screw, since I can't tighten it. I posted a photo highlighting this piece below.
There is oil spraying on the inside of the cab's engine bay cover. The oil was wet after my 15 mile drive. I posted a photo below. The location of the wet oil is right above the square piece I highlighted in the previous photo.
Does it look like oil is spraying from this square piece? If so, what does that mean? Anything else I should to to try and identify where this oil is coming from? Could it be the High Pressure Oil Pump or Turbo? I just had new up-tubes put in for the turbo.
Thanks!
