Real common for the 7.3 but can easily be cured. The regulated return to me is expencive and is a patch at best. Yes it does push most of the air out which causes the Kackle. Take a look in my garage at my air fuel separator. For under $100.00 you can nip the air problem in the butt. Fuel return in itself is two edged sword. If can park at night with the tank full you oone big step ahead. Diesel and brake fluid have the caricturistic of retaining water and air. Returned fuel is warm and condences in the tank. I now have a Baldwin water filter ahead of the AFS unit and no return line. Now to get back on track, my 7.3 and 6.0 sound alot alike.

I thought it was a rod knock at first, but I guess it's the cackle issue... |
