just bought my first diesel. 2000 f250 ext cab short bed, 170k, 2 wheel drive, 6 speed. when the truck is cold in the morning it takes about 5 seconds of cranking to start and blows a decent amount of white smoke for the first couple seconds then clears. i was thinking glow plugs but im in Florida and its very hot so im not sure if they wpuld effect this at all. the truck starts and runs great the rest of the day. its not a massive issue but it just doesn't start as easy as my friends and his doesn't blow white smoke
Just bought it 2 days ago so still figuring the truck out. no milky oil. I'm going to change all fluids and filters soon. oil level was in check but a tad on the lower side. haven't noticed any coolant loss. Chas
it most likely would be idling like crap all the time if it were a MAT sensor and not just on start up... Go ahead and monitor the icp and ipr when it is running to verify the HPOP is building proper pressure and maintaining the right duty cycle.
