Question about ECM #'s
Well it turns out my ecm was the culprit for my problems. My question is, I am able to get a used ecm from junkyard but I wasnt sure if there would be a problem with the numbers on it.
My ecm is XC3F-12A650-BG Junkyard ecm is XC3F-12A650-BF Do you think it will be ok??? |

As far as I know, it is the first 4 in line that decide, and that looks the same, should be no problem.

I'm not totally sure on that either. It just so happens that I am looking for the exact one your junkyard has. From what I have learned today, I think the first 4 and the last 2 mean a lot. But having all the numbers match would be a bonus. How did u do with it? The one the junkyard has is for a "federal emissions" truck. If that helps.

dirk0 Sorry it took me so long to reply. I've got a 2000. I also learned that for my truck there's a few others that will work. I need the last 3 numbers in the top left of the sticker to match. Been too busy to order one the last couple days. Hopefully tomorrow will treat me better. Hope they r open... The other bummer is I have to send my chip in too. It probably cooked at the same time the PCM did. The big bummer without the chip is it will idle like poop, cuz my injectors are 180cc AA single shots. Without the chip it idles REAL rough. It sounds cool, but is lame. And the throttle is like an on / off switch just off idle. Oh well... I'll be entertained.
