turbo

Hey i recently purchased a dp tuner chip i did not get the boost thing where it lets your turbo get more boost i wanted to stay safe. I have hadd it for two days and i realized after getting on it a couple times that the turbo works great there is no turbo surge when you get on it but when you slow down the turbo still has the noise that it always makes but there is a sound it sounds like there is a cat purring queitly or somthing with the whistle noise it is not loud at all but i can here this. is this common iwth a chip.

What other mods do you have? Intake, Exhaust?

i have a k an n filter that drops in your factory airbox it. it lets more air through. and i have 5 inch exhaust

You aren't going to hurt that truck whether you get the "boost thing" or not. More boost is better in some cases, helps burn off added fuel with chips.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think a chip would make the turbo sound different. Does it only make that sound when you let off?

yes it only makes the sound when i let off it dont sound bad it sounds differant and i didnt know if i ruined somthing or not. But i put it back to stock and it still made that noise maby it is all in my head and it was there before and im thinking that i ruinned somthing. so tonite i used my old superchips and went down there and delteed watever codes that came up i cant remember them rite off hand i will get them tommrow but i put my dp on stock and it didnt make that noise minute i put it on 80 econ then i let off and it made that little noise again. like i said above it dont sound bad it just sounds like differant i dont know its hard to explain its almost like when i cleared the codes it didnt make that noise then the chip set off a couple codes again and then it makes that noise until the code is cleared is wat it seems like to me.

well i went down today and put it on stock and it did read one code i dont know if this mite be the cuase of that little sound it said code number P0470 this is an exhuast back press sens cric error. Im not to sure what that means. could someone please help me. but i went for a drive for a while on the 80 hp seting and i didnt get on it at all the sound was barely noticable at all. But wen you get on the truck it is louder but not very noticable either. Then wen i got back home i went dow nthere and there was no dtc. so i guess i dont know wat to think about it. someone please help is that sensor causing the issue. oh and wen i went on the 80 seting i did leave it on stock before the eighty setting and the sound was barely noticable on stock. please help
