Stereo doesnt shut off?

okay this started happening a few days ago. for some reason the stereo wont shut off even when i take the key out and open the doors. it stays on the whole time the truck is off when i get in it an hour or 2 later its still playin. anybody have any ideas? i have a feeling this is gonna kill my battery soon

Is it a stock stereo or aftermarket? Would probally start by disconnecting the accessory wire to the stereo and see if it shuts off. If it stays on, then something is keeping the accessory circuit powered, possiably the ignition switch.

its a stock headunit. and when you push to shut it off it just goes to the clock it doesnt shut it the whole way down

Do your power windows work during that time too? Sounds like the retained accessory power relay might be stuck on. Even if your door switches were bad it still shuts off automatically after like 10 minutes. If your windows do still work try to see if you can find that relay and swap it with another one to see if that fixes it. Otherwise you could have a bad ignition switch although not very likely.

this happened once but my stereo didnt turn on when i started it and also my power windows didnt work but once the stereo turned on everything worked fine?
