Factory Speakers Size

I would like to replace my front and rear factory speakers. Can anyone tell me what size I can replace with? 6x9 or 5 1/4? Is two way or three way better, etc? Thanks for the help!

6x8 is what ya got. Yeah, I know, when I first saw that, I thougt that it was not right, but it is a 6x8. You would be fine with 2 ways, but with the 3ways, you will get a little better high end. Also something to think about if you are going to be running it through an amp or not.

If you go to Crutchfield.com they will tell you your speaker specs. Just put in your model and it will tell you. Hope that helps you.

I bought two sets of Infinity Reference series 6812's from Crutchfield during a sale. They are 6x8's and they sound fantastic compared to stock. They aren't the end-all in stereo speakers, but since I put them in with a new CD deck the sound is greatly improved.

Yeah, 6x8 all the way around, And Adam, I would just go with a 6x8. There is not alot of difference in the size.

There's really no point in it. As mentioned above, no big difference. The aftermarket manufacturers have designed in all the quality you would want or need in factory size. The next step is adding an amp and more speakers. Polk is an exceptional factory replacement with great sound quality improvement and very reasonably priced, i.e. less than $100 for a pair. Of course, a head unit will help as well. For around $140 Kenwood makes a unit that accepts a thumb drive so you can load up your MP3's and play them right from the USB cable on the stereo!
