01 f250 factory stereo CD error

Went to eject cd in factory 6 disc stereo and 'CD ERROR" comes up... any suggestions to fix this?

tweezers, then, alpine touch screen.

Mine did the same thing. I ripped it out and got an aftermarket one.

hmm.. just spent a pile of money on a TW chip, another gauge kit, and a few other things... wasnt what i was wanting to hear..lol

ya I hear ya. Well if you take it out, unplug the harness and plug it back in I believe that will reset it. or just unhook your battery terminals for a few minutes.

otherwise ford will wanna charge you a couple hundred to replace it.
you could buy a nice sony or alpine for $130 or sumtin from crutchfield and install it yourself (its really easy)

i'm guessing the discs jammed up inside... will reset truck and see if that helps before i rip the player out
hopefully theres an easy way to get the CDs out

so i reset the truck and no luck... just have to reprogram the radio... o well it was worth a try

hmm. well like I said same thing happened to me. but I was able to get the cd out with a screw driver and a pair or tweezers
After that I didn't bother trying to fix the thing, I wanted an aftermarket stereo anyways. even if youre not into music youll enjoy the sound quality of anything other than stock lol.

Hi,

Just had the same problem, and since I have time but not cash I tried to fix it myself.

It's easy to remove the radio...well worth the few bucks for the radio removal tool..just remember to push out towards the doors after they are inserted in the holes in the front of the radio.

Once removed, just detached the cd changer on top from the radio on the bottom.

My problem was a broken cd. The cd was jamming up the works. Once removed and put back in...it works perfect.

It's worth a shot.
