99 Power Seats

Does anyone know how i can fix my power seat? the motors have gone out and i cant find anyone that will sell me the motors. They all say you have to buy the entire seat. Plus i dont know how the heck im going to get the thing out cuz i cant move it. I was hoping to tear apart the motors similar to the door lock motors and see if i could figure out something like that.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Sure it aint just the switch, my switch acts up and I have to WD-40 it and wiggle it some to get it to work.

Try pushing in hard on the switch while pushing it forward or back.

My truck has a 4way knob to go front and back and up and down, lots of time the front and back stops working and I can push in on the switch while pushing it forward or back and it will work. So far up and down always work and it also has the separate switches for up and down that make it tilt. Anyways, what I’m saying is there is more than one motor and more than one switch, chances are they wouldn’t all fail at the same time so it might take some playing with it and thinking about it to decide which component is actually causing the root problem.

yea mine started doing that same stuff. first the 4-way knob didnt work now none of them work. i think i will try fixing / buying new switches first.

My truck seat was slow moving and I removed the motors and cleaned the brushes and lubed the tracks.
Also, while in the junkyard I noticed that Expedition power seats looked like they have the same power motors. You might want to check out the seats in the Expedition and grab those motors and see if that helps you.

Just bought a new one off ebay, good to go again.
