door locks

Do all trucks with xlt trim have remote door locks I just bought a 2000 F350 and I didn't get a key fob. I was wondering if I got one aftermarket if it would work.

door locks

If you have a switch by your arm rest that locks and unlocks your doors then, yes you can get remote locks. Cheapest id ABC warehouse, they'll beat anyones price.

I would goto the dealer and have them run your VIN just to be 100% sure before you drop the $$$ on the FOBs. Or, if you have the original window sticker, that will tell you!

I think FOB's only cost like 12 bucks off ebay?!
I also think there is a way to program them for free!? I'm not sure, but hell it's something to look into!

Autozone began to carry them a few years ago. But I think they were like 50+ bucks a piece. Check out Maintain's reccomendation, that sounds right to me.

Mine is an XLT and it came with electric door locks. But, it didn't come with the remote control option. I'd like to add that and an alarm, but I don't know which system would be best. Any suggestions?

Just because they have power lock does not mean they can have the fob. I have an '01 with power lock that will not work with the fob. The way to tell is to quickly cycle your key on and off 8 times, if the locks lock and unlock then the fob will work, otherwise you would have to get an aftermarket system.

check with your local car-audio shop. if you have power locks, then an alarm will work the power locks. or a remote start will work the locks. all it takes is taping in the wires. also, with the use of your run-of-the mill relay... you can get alot of the high-end two way remote/alarms to do anything such as your power windows.
