Question Ford key remote range sucks

I have a 03 f-350 crew cab, I have purchased two new key remotes and have new batteries and the range is horrible. I practically have to be in the truck to open the doors. Is there a module or antenna in the truck that could be bad? Thanks for thinking about it.

This might sound kinda stupid, but if you hold the key fob up to your ear while pressing the button it gives it better range. I have no idea why it works, and didn't believe it till a friend showed me that trick lol.

anyone else hear of this / do this?

Uh no. Sounds like your friend has had a little too much of the cooky juice. Are they OEM remotes or those cheap ones you can buy on ebay?

Well i have an aftermarket remote start / pager alarm remote on my truck now, but i swear it worked on his ford pickup with the factory remote, and my dads f-150 with factory remote. Like i said no idea why but is seems to work lol.

Mine doesn't have any range either. But why does it matter if it unlocks the truck before you get your hand on the handle?
My F-150 was the same way, I ended up putting a Viper on it, then it worked from a 1/3 of a mile away.

The remotes are from a site called "KEYLESS REMOTES" My old (just worn) stock one works the same way.

I knew someone else had to hear of that trick. Still have no idea why it works, but it seems to add quite a bit of range.

Send a message via Skype™ to excursionMark
the whole head/ chin thing actually does work because it uses the fluids in your head as more less an extension of its antenna because the fluids are conductive... there was a study done on the positioning of your arm/hand and how that affects the range which has the same general idea behind it
