Painting Pillar Gauge Pod

Hey Guys,

I am going to be installing a pillar gauge pod tomorrow. My truck is an 03 with a grey dash. What kind of paint should I use? I guess I can buy a color matched can from Ford, but I'm wondering if there is a cheaper alternative.

Any hardware store or parts store carries plastic paint. Just give it a light scuff with a greed brillo pad, primer it, then spray it! I left mine black and I have the gray dash with black trim intermittent.

Sweet. I was going to go with the hardware store, but I figured I would post up and see what everyone else is using. I might give the black pod a try, I can always paint it later

thanks

It's much easier to paint it before installing but looks fine w/o paint to me!

We sell the SpectraMatch brand. It was specifically formulated for painting gauge pillars and matches better than the OE paint, guaranteed. It is more expensive than hardware store stuff though. Irregardless, if you want some instructions, here's a PDF doc. Painting Instructions

I bought the paint for my pillar from ITP diesel. It went on easy and matches the stock gray perfectly.
