Think this will deter theives?

As some of you know the redneck valdez had its radio stolen not long ago. Well I picked up another radio but decided I wanted to try something different. Got some ideas and this is what I came up with.

simple bracket (I made 6. one for the outside, and two for the inside. see below)



I used this bracket to bolt the radio to the dash. I wanted to add support to the dash, and fill the gap between the dash and radio



all brackets installed



Bracket for the back to keep the radio from drooping





Cover plate





after many times of trimming it finally fit



and some paint



All in all took about 3 hours to fab up. could be prettier, but hell, they'll have to taked half the dash to get the radio...

nice that would be hard to pull. My buddy made his stero really hard to pull. And someone tryed to steal it and they ended up smashing it and the dash with a flathead. They ruined the dash and broke the head unit. It looked like random stabbing too they went nuts. musta been mad that they couldnt get it, or cracked out on drugs...

what if you could rig up your radio with explosives and have some sort of electronic proximity fuse where once your radio leaves a 300 foot radius of your truck it just detonates and leaves a crater wherever it happened to be...

Had a friend soldered rasor blades to the back of his. SOmeone stole it and left dna traces. Not sure what came of that. Now you just got to hope they dont get pissed and stick a screw driver in the cd hole.

Not bad around here, but I have more cameras than walmart.
