99 Standard Cab Seat Studs

I recently pulled the bench out of my truck to get it reupholstered. We got it back, and while putting it in, we found one of the rear studs on the ground, and looking at the other, it appeared to be "bent".

I put bent in quotes, because there seems to be some piece of small sheet metal holding it in. Both stud holes have very clean cut outs, which makes me suspect that they are just held up by a flimsy piece of metal, but I do not know for sure.

Should I replace this hardware? Or is it ok? Threads seem fine, the hole seems to not be TORN out, so basically, I just dont know how these studs were held in place to begin with. Any help here would be great.
