HIDs make high beams cut lights off

So I bought this truck little over a month ago. When I turned the high beams on the headlights cut completely off. When I pulled the light switch back and held high beams on the headlights don't change at all but remain on. He said ever since he installed the HID lights, it behaved like this. Any ideas?

2002 F-250 XLT. TS 6 Pos. Chip, AFE Magnum Force Stage II Cold Air Intake, 5" Exhaust from turbo back. 07' Headlights, Billet Grille, 2012 Tailgate, Ranchhand Rear Bumper, 6" lift, 4x Infinity Kappas, JBL GT5-2402BR, A lot more to come.

They're not bi-xenon, aka low beam only.

Your headlight bulb has 3 wires going to it. High, low, and ground. When you push the switch forward, power is switched from the low to high. When you pull it back, I believe it gives power to both high and low (hence why nothing happens)

Mine are like this, it's $20 cheaper from DDM tuning and most other HID suppliers. Also easier than running a relay that ford vehicles typically require.

Ok I'm not big on lights. So I had no idea. Thank you thought for clearing that up for me.
