a few interior questions

i have a 99.5 7.3 ext cab, vin check comes up as a 1999 XLT, badges say XLT as well.. i tried an ebay clicker to replace the key fob (that i never got) when i bought the truck, and i couldnt seem to get the doors to go into programming mode.. i tried everything..

did only some XLTs come with keyless entry?

would having a dp tuner ecu have removed the keyless feature?

one more question:
my mirrors are weird, the left one i cant control at all, and the right one goes down when i click down but wont go back up.. switch is good for windows.. what would cause this?

You have to do the key thing really fast, it took me a few tries to get it, but you may not have it. Not all XLTs had it, im not even positive all Lariats had it but not sure on that one.

PCM has nothing to do with the keyless entry, thats controlled by the GEM module and thats located up behind the dash buried.

Id check the wiring for the mirror, pull the door panel and the speaker and you should see the plug for the power mirrors. Ohm them out and see if they are shorted somewhere. If not check the switch continuity. Sound electrical to me but possibly could be the motors in the mirrors have died but seems unlikely since it moves down.

I am willing to bet your mirror switch is bad. I think I paid around $30 for my new one.

it could be like my truck, my passenger mirror worked fine from the switch but the drivers mirror didnt move at all. After further inspection i found the previous owner installed a non powered/manual mirror on the drivers side lol.
