Console shifter?

Is it possible to put a console with a console shifter in an 02? And actually wire and rig it up to replace the steering gear shifter? I always liked the concept up having a lot more storage in between the front seats rather than a jumps seat.

Any idea how it would be rigged? Like what components would have to be ran to the center?

Shifter cable for sure, that could be all if yer willing to lose the brake/steering/'key on' interlock and shifter position indicator.

As my buddy says... 'We got torches welders and grinders. It ALL fits if ya want it to!'

I was just looking into this. I think a guy on here put an 04-08 f150 center shifter into his OBS.

Thank you for the links. Greatly appreciated. Also does anyone know if the instrument panel of 08+ will work correctly on my 02. I see that putting an 08 dash in is possible with a little fabbing. What censors would I need?

Like the gauge cluster? (speedo, tach, etc?)

I'm pretty sure the only way to make those work is to reflash your PCM. I may be mistaken.
