Alternate to Gauge Pod

I've completed my gauge install, even if it was with a bit of trouble (blown fuse).
I didn't want to lose my "A" pillar grab handle, and I didn't want to take my eyes off the road to read my gauges. So, I had to come up with an alternate. My solution is a $4.59 home made gauge pod. I went to the local hardware store, and got a 1 1/2" ABS trap with the clean-out plug at the bottom, and one foot of 2" ABS pipe. I cut two sections of the 2" ABS about 2" long and glued them to the trap (they are butted because they wont slip fit). The gauges fit perfictly into the 2" ABS, and the wires exit at the trap bottom where the plug was. Plastic wire loom cover hides the wires until they disappear at the edge of the dash in the corner of the windshield.
Two little velcro pieces hold the pod securely to the top of the dash at the base of the "A" pillar, and the gauges are in perfect position for viewing.
I've got pictures, but I can't figure out how to post them. I'm not the most computer literate guy, obviously.

Pic Puzzled

I've got the pics.
I just don't know how to get them up to the forum.
I can email them to someone who knows how to do it.

Thanks for getting the pictures up.
I hope it's not too "back yard" for you guys, it's just that I didn't like the options that I saw in stores and on line. I guess there's lots of ways to dress up the look, this was just a first stab at getting my gauges in and mounted.
Thanks again for the help.

i like the look..... but.... if you do any kind of off-roading that velcro wont hold the guages there with some big bumps.... i would just fab up a lil bracket and screw it into the dash somwhere........but overall i like the look... and the price lol...

Looks pretty good!

When I read your write up I thought that it would look pretty ridiculous... But after seeing the photos I think you're on to something. Cheap and it really does sort of look like it belongs there. Great work!
