Interior/Exterior lighting

i dont usually come here and ask for help unless ive exhausted all my options and read pages of things.. my problem is similar to others although none have had quite as many issues all at once.

99 ford f350 7.3 XL

First, my problem is with my interior dome light.

The dimmer switch works to dim the dash, but when i put it all the way to where it will click to turn the dome on it doesnt. I here a click in the fuse panel but no dome action.

The dome lights work if i turn them on at the light by hand

No lights come on inside the truck when any of the doors are opened

The rear cab light that doubles as a break light never functions, only the brake section works when i hit the brakes it lights up red.

Door locks all work, no problems with headlights, radio, dash etc.

HELP

The light that comes on when you open the doors and when you hit the switches are different bulbs. The bulbs for the entry lighting could simply be burnt out. I would check that first. Same for the exterior cab light. If that doesn't do it then you might need to drop the headliner and take a look to make sure the wiring hasn't been damaged.

Follow the Black/Lt Blue wire found in your driver kick panel in the taped loom. That's the dome light wire. It should be 12v while your door s open and when your dimmer switch is rolled up to engage the dome lights
