Has anyone ever seen Ford documentation for what it is ? Second question ...why have I only seen it in super duties. Third question ...does the 08 still have it?

It is REALLY and officially a trash bag holder. My bro-in-law had one in his 01 F250 and we went to a junkyard and replaced it with an ashtray. After he cleaned it up and painted it to match, he uses it as a custom, secret location for his DP F5 chip. It worked out so good that we did mine that way too. It's called the Pingee mod.

Actually it is a litter bag hook, but it can also be used for hanging very small items you pick up from the cleaners on the way home....
