I bought the flip out ones from eBay for my 2001 F250. Had to take the metal part out of the remote and have a young guy at Lowes cut them for me. He was hesitant but I assured him if it didn't work I wouldn't be mad at him. Took the guts out of my old key fob and put them in the new one. Worked fine and then when I went to start the truck I realized the bezel around the ignition was in the way. I removed the ignition and took the bezel off. It worked fine however the ignition is an eyesore without the bezel. I decided to take a hack saw blade and cut the "ears" off the bezel. Now it works like a champ and I can easily tell the keys apart from my F150.

My 01 was not a transponder key however there is a spot on the back of the flip key to put the transponder chip in.

I have no idea what we're talking about since there's no pics, but I can take a guess at another solution. I threw a keypad from a 6.0 on my door. Works great. It's a stick on, not hard-wired as I originally thought. The keypad is basically a fob, but instead of an unlock button, you punch in a code.

Along the same lines, I reprogrammed a fob from my old '07 F150 to work on my '02. The programming is retarded monkey easy, and, from my experience, 02-07 is all compatible. Likely more than that, but that is my personal experience.

Those are cool. I always wanted one that was nice and sharp. Keypad was $80, self installed. Factory Ford, but I'm sure others would work.

I'll have to get more info on the keypad. Don't know if I am set up for one. I like the all in one key. Easy to carry around. That spring is no joke need to sharping one of my extras. I only gave $8 for them.
