brake controller wiring harness

can anyone tell me where exactly the brake controler wiring plugin is at? i need a schematic too,,,, i went to ford and i got a 5 wire harness and mine is a 4wire square.... but i may have the wrong plug in.

btw its a 99 f250 superduty extended cab

reese make the same plug an it will show you where to look if you can find a hitch installer they are a big help

it is under the dash just behind where the electronic 4x4 knob is i think it is a grey plug. it is kind of a pain to get to and see. it took me about 5 min. just to get it plugged in

when you take the plastic cover in front of your knees off, look all the way to the right...towards the center. There will be a dash brace type piece there kind of boxing it off. The connector you need is on the other side of that brace.....there is a small opening you can see it through

You can see the brown plug plugged into the grey plug. You're looking for that grey plug.
