not 100% sure but in my opinion i dont think it will work , the entire truck wiring harness is different , the 2000 has two fuse boxes one in the dash and one under the hood , the 2002 excursion will have the smart junction box /fuse box all in the dash ,and the wiring just wouldnt connect

Honestly if youre going to be swapping the dash might want to just go ahead and swap in an 05-07 dash. fits perfect and is a huge improvement.

and i kept my stock ac controls (manual) with the lariat 06 dash. and to swap in auto hvac will take alot of work and wiring.

Yes and no. The auto climate will not swap with out extensive mods, do some searches there is a great write up of this somewhere. The actual dash swap is easy. you take out 2 bolts on each side of the dash, one bolt behind the center dash and 4 across the top at the windshield. You also have to take the steering column out, its 4 bolts, shifter cable and a wire harness and the whole thing comes out. You have to swap your wiring harness, gauge cluster, and AC controls from the old dash to the new one they wont interchange.

My questin is this the only difference between a 00 superduty dash and a 02 excursion dash is the bezel around the radio, and it just pops off the rest is the same, why not just swap that?

There is no way to change from a 99-01 gauge cluster because the 02+ AND 05+ all use different data communication with the PCM where our 01- trucks use more analog communication.
