Is your door adjar light on. It is a little red light on the instrument cluster, has a shape of the truck with a door open. If that light is on, try cleaning the door latchets with compressed air and some brake cleaner.

It works when other doors are open. The problem is specifically related to the drivers side door according to the original post.

I had a similar problem with a 99' I had. Only my prob. was the oposite, the light wouldn't turn off, even with the door closed, and the door ajar light would stay on. I ended up trading the truck in about a week after the prob. surfaced, so I never had a chance to figure out what it was.

You might want to check / clean the door switch though, that might help.

There is no door switch. The door latch is the switch. The first thing you need to do is clean the door latch as I described in my first posting.
