multiple little electrical annoyances

sometimes i turn the key on and the power windows and stereo don't work. i figured out that if i slap the dash a couple of times they will start working which leads me to believe there is a loose connection. is this common at all? where is the loose connection?

my hvac blower fan also started working at low speed on all setting except for high speed which works as it should. switch? resistor block?

the off delay on my auto headlights got really long one day. it used to take about 30 seconds or less for the lights to shut off, now it's about 5 minutes... not sure exactly but it's long enough that my neighbour calls me to tell me i left the headlights on after i come home.

I have no words or wisdom for the first two issues, but I would pull the fuse for the running lights.
The fuse only controls the DRL's and could be replaced at any time. Beats draining batteries and wearing out headlight bulbs all the time.

the auto headlights are the least of my worries. the stereo/window problem is the one that bothers me most right now.

Thanks, some interesting reading there.

It looks like most people go a long time using the dash smack method which I think I'll stick with for a while. There doesn't seem ti be a good fix for that.

I have this problem as well just not as bad its temperamental and was worse when it snowed or rained. What I have found out is that my windshield was leaking. I fixed that with a new windshield. But unfortunately Ford placed the GEM module or (body control module) in the wrong area, and it got wet, when that happens all hell breaks lose in the truck. So I would check that out first Rock auto has them for a decent price, Ford has refurbed ones for around 800 installed. They do need to be programmed for your truck.

Good luck
Hope this helps
