Power Windows?????

Ive posted about this before and I was told to try lubing the tracks in the windows but it didnt seem to help. To recap, When I roll my windows down they work great till just below halfway and then they get really slow and struggle to go the rest of the way down. Sometimes, especially shortly after I get in the truck and its cold, they wont even make it all the way down. They will stop and I have to let off the button and try again. Does anyone have any experience and other advice I could try. This is the only pet peve I have with my truck and would like to get rid of it.

Mine does the same exact thing on the passenger side. The previous owner said the driver's side did the same thing and he replaced the motor and it works fine now. I'm just too lazy to replace the passenger side.

Any idea how costly and difficult it is to replace the window motor?

I've had the door panel off to replace my speakers and it didn't look too difficult. I don't know how much the part is from the dealer though.

once you get the door panel off, there are only 3 screws holding the motor in. Just gotta peel back some of that soud barrier stuff if I remember right. I paid $40 for a used one from a wrecking yard. I got lucky, cause I saw the guy in the yard yank it out of the door.

that is a steriotypical weak motor...

sometimes you can adjust the window guides and make it a bit better...but the only way to really fix it is replace the motor

that's probably very true, but I had a long trip over Christmas that I couldn't wait for. I needed to fix it right then.

I don't know where it is on here, but someone came up with a fix that is free. It involves something about removing the motor, drilling out the rivets, and installing a peice of aluminum foil over some diode or resistor or something in the motor. I don't know how safe or whatever this is, but you can check it out.

My drivers side front does the same thing...
