00powerstrokin-that's a flippin sweet setup! Is that just an angle iron bracket you fabbed up? I have a few CB questions of my own. The only thing I ever really used one for was communicating on the trail when I went 4 wheeling. If I'm able to clearly hear the guy 500' in back of me and the guy 500' in front of me I'll be perfectly happy. My concern is that I want as small an antenna is possible. A lot of the trails in the Pine Barrens here in Jersey get pretty tight so I don't want my antenna to turn into a fiberglass menace
I was reading up on the Firestik page about the 24" 100 Watt antenna-how would that work with a Maxon MCB-30? What about tuning? My uncle has an SWR meter, so I can tune it, but what does it really depend on? Is it the radio, the antenna, the vehicle, or a combination? Do you think I'd be able to do a mirror mount? |
