The Uniden will be no more than 8w of power and the Connex 3300 will be 40w out of the box. It can be tuned to about 75w. Side band is only good the the person on the other end has the same. If you want range it cost money. And again they can hear you but do they have the power to get back to you? I used the Connex for many years, Rolling Rock to Miami, produce to PA then store drops in DC.

Galaxy export radios

Yes it's the law that no one cares about any more. I have seen some running up to 1500 waits before. I like the price on one or two of the Galaxy
http://www.galaxyexportradios.com/galx88.shtml & Connex are the best, Just my 2 cents.

Removing a cat is also illegal. When I was on the road in some cities there were so many locals on base and mobiles if you didn't have the power to talk over them you were lost without help.

but they don't sell new cars without cats. so wouldn't all cbs be 4 watts from the factory. i doubt that it is legal for them to sell nes radios putting out 40 watts.

You dont need sideband....no one uses it anymore. Just get you a Unadin PC76 have it peaked and tuned at a good CB shop. Get it setup with good wilsons, have it matched to the radio, and a noise canceling microphone.

Aint no truk'n like chicken truck'n.
