Powerdoor locks

The power door locks in my 99 F250 do not work.
I can hear some noise when I do the remote or the push buttons on the doors, but they do not lock or unlock using either switch or the remote.
Anybody else have this problem or know the workings of the auto locks?
Bad ground or switch maybe?

sounds like the door lock actuator. pretty common item to fail. word on the street is you need to replace each one (one per door).

I'm going into the door Sunday to check out the actuaters, hopefully thats the problem. Couldn't find them for sale on line anywhere, ideas of who's the best to order from.
Once this is repaired I'll ask about the little jump when I take off from a stop, no clunk noise just a skip somewhere

Thanks for the help, this is a much better forum then the VW one I'm very active on

when you press the button do the knobs "twitch" even though they dont unlock?? If so, no reason to tear the door panel off till you have the actuators, because i will garantee that is the problem....
