shorted out another dimmer switch
hey guys,
so here is a little back ground info, Halloween 2011 my dimmer switch shorted out, i went a year without one. just recently i purchased a new switch and it worked fine. (i figured it was just the old switch had gone bad from old age) last night i was driving home and started to smell a short, pulled over and my dash lights went out again. i pulled the switch and noticed that the ground was a little melted. I have no idea what is causing this short? my one thought is that when i had my front end conversion installed the mechanic wired the ground for my fog light switch into the ground for the dimmer switch. could the low voltage on from the dimmer switch because this to happen? also i had my radio out just prior to this happening.
sorry for the jumbled post im just trying to get this figured out before i have a long haul on Wednesday.
