I think lower end would be going to a single din with an install kit. I got a Pioneer single din with Ipod controls for 79$ delivered. It came with a install kit and wiring harness. I am able to control the iphone from the deck.

I bought a double din unit for 200. It's a boyo brand from sonic electrux. It's not the best but decent. DVD Bluetooth has an sd slot. I think they are discontinued tho.

I have a Pioneer AVH1400DVD and love it. It has great basic functions but is upgradeable to have nav and blue tooth. It does have a place to plug in an ipod.

i have the pioneer appradio II. Plugs into your iphone. 500 bucks. uses the iphone GPS, or you can download waze or like 5 other gps programs. Can watch netflix, use pandora radio. I like it, it works pretty good. you cant stream music over bluetooth which pisses me off to no end.

I just put in a JVC KW-AV70BT like 2 weeks ago in my 2000 F-250, and I completely love it!! I got it on Amazon for $350. Fully intergrates with iphone/ipod/ipad with apps and everything. does bluetooth audio streaming, great bluetooth phone calling. It's a really great unit. I would do the same one again in a heartbeat!! The fit is perfect too.

I don't actually have an iphone, or a current gen ipod, so I haven't tested the apps part a lot (I did a little with a buddys phone) but there is a dedicated button for Pandora on the headunit that offers full control from the head unit, and then I think you can do just about any other app you want through the 'apps' button on the headunit.
