Installing overhead console cover

Hello Guys/Girls I purchased a new overhead console cover and when going to install it it seems like it takes a tremendous amount of pressure to get the clips to pop in and i feel as if i might break it.....is that normal? BTW its a 2002 Lariat CCSB if it makes a difference

Thanks

Yea I replaced mine a few years back in the same model truck, I wouldn't say it takes a tremendous amount of pressure but I do remember it being more than i thought it would. Just give it a bump with your palm right over the clips and it should go. If i can remember correctly I used the old clips which could have made a difference, I cant remember if it came with new ones or not.
