Overhead console module

Need some advise please.
I have a 2000 F-350 Super Duty, CC, long bed, 4 wd. 7.3 PS
The overhead console quit working, and I am assuming the module went out. I have a couple of questions, so please help me if you can:
1) How do you take the outside shell off to get at the module without breaking it?
2) I have found two Ford part numbers that both say will fit my truck.
3C3T - 10D898 - AC
3C3Z - 10D898 - AA
What is the difference in these two parts, which one is really the right one for my truck?
I don't have a sunroof.

I sure would appriecate some help here Guys.

Thanks,
Tinman

You are "The Man"!!

Thanks so much for that link. It explained it about as well as anything I have ever seen.
Now I guess I will go find out how really stupid I am, and try to fix it.

Thanks again

Hey Guys, just a quick question. I have a 2002 Super Duty F250 XLT 4 door - didnt come with an overhead console but i would like to add one, that includes the digital diplay for various readings MPG, etc. Is that possible on my truck. Seeing they came installed on earlier models i am hoping my wireing harness supports it ... ANy thoughts

Three of the resistors fell off when i took it apart, lucky i found them all. Ive NEVER soldered before, but since the overhead display didnt work i'd give it a shot. After two burned finger tips and a whole lot of cursing, it Works!!

I bought a $12 soldering gun included solder at Wal-Mart, i added a small amount of solder to were the resistors would sit, on both sides. Then placed the Res. on top of the solder and again heated, and pressed them into it. Added super glue for good measures to all of the res.
