WOW ! Thanks for the tip, It worked great. Popped mine off with no problems, and found 2 chips sticking up. Took less than 10 min total to fix and that included waiting for the soldering iron to heat up.
Here is what to look for.....

Thanks for the tips and pics... Just fixed mine, it only took a couple of minutes and it works great now.

im in the process of fixing mine right now and looking at pics i found my circuit bored doesnt have the thing circled in the picture? Is that bad? what is it?

well anyways i did a ****ty solders job on the 2 680s that broke off and pluged it back in my truck and BAM it works again. But it dims down a little bit and i have to smack it to light up normally. so i will take it out again when its not 3am and do a better solder job and get new resistors.

Hey man, good heads up on that one. I about tore into it the other day but didn't get any further than staring at the console exterior cross-eyed. All you had to was just pull on it, it's interior clips, and I was golden.

A suggestion, if no one else has considered it, is to put a dab of epoxy onto each SMD ... the chips and other things are not as likely to fall off ... but these SMD resistors could use a little make-shift conformal coating.
