overhead console quite working

The overhead console which displays milage, temp, direction ect. quit working the other day after refueling. The dispay is blak and won't light up no matter what I do. Any suggestions to try and fix it or am I S.O.L. and need to replace it?

Brian

Here is something to try if it's not a fuse.

well, I took it apart. I found that one of the chips fell out completely. after searching for about an hour I found it on the floor. (note: be very carefull when dissassembling and watch out for loose parts falling out! ) I soldered it back into place somewhat and to my surprise it worked! However I put the rest of the console back together only to have it not working again so I took it apart again and pushed on the chips again to see if another one was loose and when I pushed on the one I fixed it broke in two pieces and fell into the ash tray full of change. I didn't bother to try and find the pieces because I don't believe there is any way of using it anymore. Is there anything else I can put in its place or do I have to get another board?

After searching and reading the various postings both on this site and others I was able to find that the resistors are 62ohm and 68ohm. I went to radio shack and purchased the 68ohm resistor pack for $0.99. I put one resistor in place of the one I broke and replaced another one that was loose and Holy sh*t if it didn't work like a new one! Just thought I would update everyone that has had a similar problem. It really is an easy fix!
