Overhead computer installation?

I have seen several threads describing how to fix the overhead computers, but none on installing them in a vehicle that did not have one to start. I ordered all the parts in a kit and they came with some instructions, however they are lacking. More pics and wiring diagrams than written directions. Normally that would be exactly what I want, however in this situation I need a little more info. The main thing I am trying to figure out is the location and size of the hole I will need to cut in the headliner as well as info on removing the headliner. I have clearance lights on top of the cab so I don't really want to just start cutting into the headliner and cut up the wiring.

Just place it up and see how much to cut.
If I remember I can get a pic of it up there. There is a wiring harness that does not interfere with the cab lights.
The temp sensor is up at the front, somewhere in the header panel, driver side of center.

Is there a harness that's just plug and play for the mpg? Or some serious work involved?

You will want to check and make sure that your wiring harness is set up for the computer, correct? The wiring harness is supposed to plug in behind the passenger side kick panel??? Maybe, I am looking in the wrong spot, but the plug in that I have is different than the one that is in the original wiring harness of the truck.

Look for the dimmer wire on the overhead and cut it. Tape it up after.
