Center console shifter
Curious if anyone has done this swap. I have an 03 f250 auto with a column shifter (think all f250 & f350's are this way?) I wanna know if anyone has swapped it for a center console with shifter like in the newer f150's? Love the feel of it and the added storage in my dads. If not, guess I'll hit up the pick&pull and do a write up throughout the misadventure.

I'd love to have a console shift in my harley. I've always loved that about the newer F150s

IIRC, our trucks use a cable linkage to shift from park to drive? Same as the f150? And a lot of the f150s use the 4r100. I'm honestly surprised at the lack of curiosity when I searched for it. I think its pretty bada** and comfy.

I haven't found any info on it. Only a few post with guys tossing around the idea, but never a completed project. If im thinking right, it would be just a matter of rerouting any power source to it, and the shifter linkage which is what they did in the 150's.. other than that, it would be kinda difficult merging the console to the dash. But fiberglass and color match paint should do the trick.. and the flow through air vents? Idk about that one.

I think i will call a few salvage yards and see if i can find one. I think the hardest part would be the rear vents. Dont know if that is that important to me anyway

I agree. Im not too worried about those either, but would be a nice perk! Good luck and let me know how it turns out.. mine has to wait til after the wedding.. fiancee said only maintenance issues for now

Interesting idea. I would like to see how this turns out! I have looked some T-case cable shifters at northwestfab.com for my '79 F250 but they don't make anything specifically for the SD.
