Dome Light ?

Dumb question but I have to ask. When I bought my 2000 CCSB the dome light and the cargo light had not bulbs in it. I just got around to replacing them today. Now I know why there were no bulbs in them. They stay on the whole time. Has anyone ever had this problem. I am assuming the switch is bad but it works just fine to dim or brighten the interior lights. Any help would be appreciated.

is the door ajar light on, on the dash.

mine does this except the exact opposite.. my dome light works fine when i click it on and off with my hand and my dimmer switch works fine until i turn it all the way up and try to click it on then my dome light will not come on as it should so i have to click it with my hand and it also doesn't come on when i open the door..im still unable to find the reason for this
