99 Center Console Lid
I know there have been several posts about this, i have searched all over this site and google and im not coming up with any useful information. Im trying to remove the center console lid so it can be reupholstered. These lids seem rare and are hard to track down so i really want to make sure i dont break it. Im hoping someone has removed the lid previously and can give me some insight. I know i missing something.
Heres a link to the style of console: https://www.marathonseatcovers.com/i...allery/74F.jpg Thanks in advanced |

Lift the lid amd using a drift pin punch the hinge pins through the brackets. Take a steamer or blow dryer and warm up the felt to peel it off. No need to peel the entire piece just the edges. U will find screws that hold the lid and leather plate together. When I did mine I just stapled a new piece on top after using hot glue to fill the crack. How u choose to do it is up to u but it really is that simple

Forgot to mention that for a real quality look, make sure ur sew the same points the factory uses. I left the existing piece on a put another layer on top, it looked really good too. Ill find some pics and post them up
