My previous truck was a reg cab. I put a shell on the truck and mounted a small sub in the bed that was ported into the cab.

I use the bed to much to do that. you would have plenty of room though.

I have an Alpine W200 in dash screen, Pioneer 6x8 speakers in all of the doors, and a Memphis 12" sub behind the driver's seat, but my truck is an ext cab, not a regular cab.

Personally I prefer Alpine. Currently running...

all Alpine
IVA-W505 2 din head unit
NVE-M300 navigation
TUA-T550HD HD radio tuner
KCD-400BT bluetooth interface
PXA-H100 audio processor
PDX-4.150 4 channel 150w amp
2 PDX-1.1000 1000w mono amps
2 SWX-1242D 12" type X subs
2 SPX-177R 2-way component systems

It's a great system, but the surrounds on the 6.5" midbass drivers cracked. Only the ones in the front cracked and I think it's from sun damage after several years of exposure. I replaced them with CDT ES-06 drivers and everything has been great since.

There is a lot of good stuff to choose from out there. Some higher end names for speakers would be Infinity Kappa, JL Audio, Boston Accoustics, Alpine, etc. etc. If you pay retail, these higer end brands can cost you, but you can usually get them for about 1/2 the cost if you purchase them gray market (ex. eBay). If you purchase them gray market, the manufacturer warranty will not apply but that isn't necessarily a big deal. Lots of times you will still get a warranty from the eBay seller, or you can purchase a 3 year Square Trade warranty for most items for cheap. I've never had to use the Square Trade warranty yet, so I can't speak for it. You can always contact Crutchfield.com for advice on stereo stuff. Their advisors are usually pretty good about answering any questions. Sometimes they have some good deals on certain items, and sometimes you can find better elsewhere. It is at least a good place to start.

I personally have 4 Infinity Kappa 6x8's for my door speakers and 2 Infinity Kappa Perfect 10's behind my back seat (have two amps pushing all speakers). The system rocks pretty good.

Glue it with some epoxy and you'll be ok.
