O/D switch and mileage counter-clock INOP

I have a 99 F350 4x4 CC 7.3L with an auto. IDk if they are connected issues but the O/D switch and the mileage readout/clock in the overhead console neither one works. Not sure if there is a fuse or relay or anything in common between the two, any ideas or comments????

I also have a od switch that's not working. A friend told me the only way to replace the switch is to replace the entire shift lever assy on the column. I am hoping it's easier than that!!
