Door Lock Question

Okay long story short, my truck was broken into a few weeks ago by prying under the drivers door handle with a screwdriver. It then gets fixed a few weeks ago and they replaced the lock but it still uses the same key.

The problem is that I have ALWAYS locked my truck from inside. the other day i realized that when i lock it from the inside the truck unlocks its self within 2 seconds. Anyway I called up the body shop and they said that the locks do that to prevent people from locking the keys in the car...anyway Im calling BS that he doesn't wanna fix it. And it does lock by the key chain fine but habit makes me use the door.

Do anyones truck do this to them? thanks

Mine does only if I leave the key in the ignition. If the key is not in the ignition I can lock it from the inside and close the door. When they broke into your truck, did they mess with the ignition lock? If so, that may be the answer.

yea ive seen that.
i just wanted to know if its something that needs to be fixed or not. I mean if it doesnt lock from the inside anymore then what is the point of having the door lock inside

i tried it again today and it only unlocks itself when the truck is off....i think imma try and get it fixed

Edit: ill try the key in the ignition....havent thought of that....it kinda makes sense

if the key is in the ignition then it should unlock. Preventing accidental lock outs. If its removed then they should not unlock.
