Door sensor wires?
Hi, i'm new here on the forums. I'm thinking about adding lights to my running boards so that whenever the doors open the lights will come on. I remember on my old f-150 the wire that i was going to use was under the door sill thingy on the driver side somewhere. will it be in the same location on my f-350? Or, should i ask what wire i should be using? I'd like each light to come on individually according to each door if possible, or just one side lights up with either door open. Or, it might be cool to have the lights on whenever the interior dome lights come on.. either way, what wires should i be looking for? if anyone knows that would be very helpful.
thanks a lot, Mitch |

I did this to my truck. I took the the exterior light on the back of the cab off and ran a wire from there to down between the panels that go around the back window and out the bottom of the truck to my lights along the running boards. Now whenever I open a door or turn the dome light on the running board lights come on.

thanks for the help, i ended up using the rear dome light, cause when i first read your post i thought thats what you ment, ended up putting the wire above the headliner, then inside the rear side pillar, then i widened one of the holes that you snap the doorsill thingy into, then put the wire through it. works like a champ. thanks a lot.
