just an fyi but if you ever need to figure out anything about stereos as far as depth, what fits and all that good stuff. go to Crutchfield: LCD TV, Car Stereo, Home Theater, Speakers, Digital Cameras and theres a tab that says outfit my car. It will tell you what fits and also if their is any other options for your install. Good Luck!

I put 6x8 in my front doors (2000 crew). I tried 6x9 even though Crutchfield said they wouldn't fit. What do they know, right? They were right. 6x9 Kenwoods were too deep and hit the window mechanism. 6x9s fit in the rear of my crew though.

The rears in my 00 crew are in the side panel, not the doors. There will be vents over the spot where they are - easy to spot. 6x9s (Kenwoods at least) fit easily. You have to pull the side panel off and something to do with the seatbelt to get to them. Easy job w/ the right tools. Crutchfield has all the mount specs on speakers. The only thing I have found them to be wrong about is they say a Kenwood double DIN won't fit my truck. It came with a double DIN and I know someone with one in their 04 so I know it will fit.

I should also mention that I have a Lariat 00 crew. I don't know if the XLT and XL have rear speakers. You might have to make a hole for them and get different panels with vents if you don't have any rears at all. If you don't get panels with vents it might look jacked up with the stock speaker covers installed. Again, Crutchfield can probably answer questions. Call them if you don't find what you need online. If nothing else they are usually a decent info source.
