Dome Lights
When I bought my truck, there where no actual bulbs installed for the Dome Lights. Seeing how I looked at the truck in the daylight, I never noticed it. But now that I put some in, the lights stay on even if the doors are closed. I don't have the key fob for the truck and was wondering if this has something to do with it maybe. Anyhow any advice would be great! Thanks in advance!

Would a bad door switch do this as well?

A doorswitch may cause it too I guess, I am going to probably just bypass the relay and run a switch to it. If I want Dome Lights, I will just turn them on!

![]() Welcome to the ford door switches-LOL! ![]() We've all had problems with these-but are an easy fix ![]() But first-have you noticed that when you start to drive that lites go off? If they do-then here's the easy fix,I have fat fingers,so I have to remove latches to get switch out,(should be t25 torx) but, once out (after removing door panel, some lock linkage, etc.)no big deal, spray switch out with spray silicone-not wd40(wd40 is fish oil and will trap dirt in future and fail on you again) spray well, exercise switch well and reassemble. If you are some what mechanically inclined and like a new challenge-you will have no problem doing this-and be happy with how much money you can save by doing it yourself If you need additional help-just ask, there's tons of people on here who are ready to jump in and give help and opinions

If your lights stay on while driving-most likely it's the relay-if not, it's a stuck switch.
It could be any one of doors, start with the most used. I've tried spraying in place-no luck,ever-but that's me,several guys say it works great for them. The problem with the design of the switch is the action is pointed upward-that's just asking to clog up and not work-and movement seems around 1/8 inch between make and break-not much ![]() That's another reason why I just get the switch out ,hold it in my hand, and spray clean it out,and work the switch with my hand and I can see it's clean Don't have any photos though-sorry. |

Yes, it could, but you would probably also be getting the Door Ajar indicator on the dash.

drove the truck today with the fuse in. dome lights stayed on until i hit a certain speed than they went off and came back on when i slowed down around 10-20mph so im guessing its the relay???
Kletec9mm how were you going to go about wiring the dome lights into a switch? sounds like a good idea |
